Alice provided sessions that were tailored to his needs, both covering trickier content and also lots of exam practice questions. “Alice has been brilliant. My daughter had to swap out of Chemistry after year 12 and took up Environmental Science 9 months before the A level exam in year 13. She started with one of the online schools, but they didn’t really provide the support she needed (I would not recommend), and then we found Alice! Alice met with her twice a week, and took her through the whole syllabus, providing excellent notes, support, exam preparation and feedback. She found it incredibly helpful and enjoyed her sessions immensely. The pace of the lessons was great, and Alice was patient and kind when my daughter found things difficult. The exam preparation was really helpful and clear. She took her A level and Field Work element through a local exam centre. She passed with a B, her highest Alevel pass and given the circumstances, a remarkable achievement. We are deeply grateful for Alice’s support. If you are thinking of doing an A level in Environmental Science independently, I would absolutely recommend Alice – and then using an exam centre to book the Field work and exam, rather than going to an online school. ''Our daughter has been self-studying her A-levels, and so we sought Environmental Science tutors to ensure she was on track and learning appropriate exam technique. After using a “teacher-supported” online learning platform (which was truly terrible), we found her first 1:1 Environmental science tutor who was very good. Unfortunately, our first tutor had to stop due to family commitments, so we found another tutor, who was friendly, but did not actually teach to the syllabus or help much with exam preparation. So, we searched some more, and we finally found Alice Slade, who was both knowledgeable and helped our daughter prepare for her exams in a structured manner. Our daughter has enjoyed her lessons with Alice and feels very well prepared for her A-levels now. ''Alice is an absolutely wonderful tutor and has explained the whole premise of the lithosphere in an hour... and even better, I understood all of it! She is supportive, friendly, has plenty of revision resources and has high-quality presentations that go into brilliant detail on every subtopic of the lithosphere (the current area of my programme of revision). She is passionate and extraordinarily knowledgeable and is perfectly capable of taking any question you have and answering it instantly. She has a large stock of extra reading-material in case you want to read more into a topic that you may be struggling a bit with. She is really polite and patient if you have some information that you don`t quite understand. She`ll go over information in more detail and simplify it a bit more to make the information easier to take in. I have absolutely no negative feedback and I am very pleased with the experience and I can`t wait for our next online lesson. She has been a massive help to my understanding of environmental science and has proven to massively increase my productivity. When in an environmental science lesson at college, I`ll usually write somewhere between 1 and 1.5 pages, but with her, I have written almost 3 whole pages of information. Her attitude towards teaching students is phenomenal and I am very glad my mum found her as a tutor. The only thing I regret is not signing up for her lessons sooner!'' Rachel, 2022
